Cub Scout Pack #225 celebrated their anniversary on Feb. 23 with a luau-themed Blue and Gold Banquet at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in the Burbank hills.
The annual banquet is a birthday dinner for the Cub Scouting program, held during February. This is the anniversary month of the Boy Scouts of America, which was organized in February 1910. The Cub Scouts was organized 20 years later, in 1930.
Pack #225's banquet featured a Cub Scout sing-along, slide-show, and arts and crafts made by the boys. Special thanks go to parent leaders
Pam Lueneburg and
Olivia Boyce, who played a key role in organizing the event, and
Peter Miller who put together the slideshow.
Margaret Bogenschutz, formerly the pack's Committee Chair, was given a rousing farewell by the Scouts and their families. Margaret is leaving the Cub Scouting program to follow her son who has advanced to the Boy Scouts.
Sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of Burbank, Cub Pack #225 serves boys in grades 1-5. The year-long program stresses community volunteerism, leadership training, family involvement and personal skills development. For more information about Pack 225, please visit
