Summer Parks Family Nights in Burbank
Contributed by: Carol Mercado on 8/27/2007

In July, the city of Burbank hosted the annual Family Fun Nights at four local parks and playgrounds as a culmination of its summer parks program.

Disney Playground, Lundigan Park, Miller Park and Pacific Park had from 20 to 75 families, depending on the site, participating in picnic games, face painting and tug-of-war contests.

They enjoyed a live animal show by The Reptile Family, great food and opportunity drawings.

Many prizes were donated by local Burbank businesses such as Handy Market, HomeTown Buffet, Domino's Pizza, Barragan's Restaurant, Martino's Bakery, Olive Garden restaurant, Jamba Juice Elephant Bar and Sharky's.

In addition, radio station KFWB donated Dodger tickets.

Also, thanks to our great volunteers who helped with the events.

The summer parks program offers supervised, drop-in recreational activities for children ages 6 to 18 and free lunches to anyone 18 and younger.

The program runs for seven weeks each summer.
