Burbank on Parade sets theme and date
Contributed by: Marina Garcia on 2/26/2008

Sandy Dennis, president of Burbank on Parade, announced that
the theme for this year's event will be "Back to the 50s Again."

The parade will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.,
and will begin at Keystone and Olive and end at George Izay Park, where the winners of the various best in parade events will be honored.

In addition a crafts fair, delicious foods and desserts will be at the park.

Originally, Burbank on Parade was a week-long festival put on by the
Burbank Junior Chamber of Commerce from 1945 to 1957.

It consisted of a parade, a carnival and various contests.

Twenty -six years ago, a group who remembered how great the old parade was got together and created what is today's modern Burbank on Parade, and with the continued financial support of the city of Burbank and our terrific
sponsors, this is the 26th anniversary of the "modern day parade."
