An Iraqi candle in the night
Contributed by: paul batou on 7/23/2007

On November 21, 2004, while Layla, a mother of two orphans, was heading home at Al-Dawara in Baghdad, a fanatic Islamist stopped her and ordered her to take off her cross.

Layla refused to remove her cross using strict and polite words. The extremist Muslim reached to her cross snapped it off, threw it on the ground, then shot her in the head.

Amer Hanna Fatuhi, visual artist and historian who lost his sister-in-law Layla, created 12 art works using her as a symbol for the ongoing genocide of Iraqi Christians and non-Muslim minorities (Jews and Minda'ians ).

He will show these art works this month at the Royal Oak Library showroom in Detroit-Michigan.

It is the message to all the world to save Iraqi Christians. For more information
