'Kids Come Together' at Panorama High School
Contributed by: Marina Garcia on 4/14/2008

"Kids Coming Together" is a performance piece developed by Casa Esperanza and Michael Kearns, with a grant from the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.

A group of children have spent more than six months, participating in a workshop where they developed their writing and performing skills.

At 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, "Kids Coming Together" will be presented at Panorama High School, Room #A104, at 8015 Van Nuys Blvd., Panorama City.

Admission is free and there will be a special raffle for all those in attendance - the chance to win a medium-size silver metallic and blue Mongoose Bike with a helmet.

Located in Councilmember Tony Cardenas' District 6, Casa Esperanza has hosted the classes leading up to the special event. Kearns, and his assistant Joe Gill, are both professional teachers and members of Los Angeles' theater community.

"Kids Coming Together" concerns itself with a wide variety of topics that are of interest to parents, children and members of the community including dreams, familial relationships and issues of discrimination and spirituality.
