TMZ, better known as The Thirty Mile Zone, is a 24/7 on-demand entertainment news network on the Web. Providing up-to-the-minute EXCLUSIVE breaking news on today's hottest celebrities, movies, music, television shows, video games and more; TMZ creates an interactive experience where consumers connect with the ultimate entertainment industry insiders. Using multiple formats, TMZ brings the latest and most up-to-date news to the reader. Fast paced video news segments, in-depth articles, inside scoop, photos and blogs provide behind-the-scenes access never before seen on the Web. In addition, TMZ offers the opportunity to actually participate and give feedback on the entertainment they experienced.

The site, a partnership between America Online and Telepictures Productions, was designed to report "entertainment news in real time. Besides breaking stories, TMZ features video clips of spontaneous celebrity encounters, star gossip, music and film blogs and links to dozens of other entertainment Web sites. Jim Bankoff, executive vice president of America Online, said he expected TMZ to be popular because of the insatiable thirst for celebrity news and the absence of a broadband video channel devoted to it.

TMZ.com really knows how to take advantage of the Internet. After reading an article on TomKat's new baby, Suri, for example, you can click on a link to see the baby's birth certificate. The Web site is saturated with links to video clips, original documents, photo galleries and other celeb sites. It's so comprehensive that it's almost overwhelming, giving the British tabloids a run for their money, said, "Impulse Reviews"
