LFCU named one of California's Best Places to Work
Contributed by: Alethia Calagias on 3/4/2008

Lockheed Federal Credit Union (LFCU) announced that it has been ranked No. 1 in the medium-sized company category of the "California's Best Places to Work" program for 2007.

This first-ever best workplace program exclusively for California employers was sponsored by Employers Group, the preeminent human resources expert and advocate serving California employers.

"I am extremely proud of the work environment created by our staff and management," said Dave Styler, president and CEO at LFCU. "We know that happy employees provide better service to members; and so our goal is to delight our employees, just as we want them to delight members."

LFCU's ranking was based on the blind scoring of more than 400 companies' responses to a survey of employers and employees in nine categories, including work-life balance, pay, benefits, training and advancement opportunities, diversity programs, turnover, perks, employee voice and workplace culture, and community involvement.

Five winners were selected from each of four company-size categories: growing (25-49 employees), small (50-99 employees), medium (100-499 employees) and large (more than 500 employees).

"Lockheed Federal Credit Union has distinguished itself as a champion for leading edge employee benefits and best HR practices, and in doing so, has raised the bar for employers everywhere," said Mark Wilbur, president and CEO of Employers Group.

The first annual "California's Best Places to Work" program winners were announced on February 28 at an awards gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel. More than 7,000 companies were solicited to participate in this program.
