Disaster preparedness event to be held in Burbank

What:	During the recent Chino-based earthquake did you know what to do? The city of Burbank Senior Services Division and the National Alliance For Healthy Communities would like to help. On Sept. 8, the Joslyn Adult Center in Burbank will be hosting a disaster preparedness event sponsored by the National Alliance For Healthy Communities (NAFHC) and the city of Burbank. The event's focus will be to educate older adults - 55 years and over - on how to look after yourself in an emergency. Participants will learn how to make a plan, assemble a disaster supplies kit, prepare an emergency food supply and more. Regal Medical Group is partnering with the city of Burbank and will be at the event educating older adults on health-related issues during a disaster. The event will take place from12:30-2 p.m. at the Joslyn Adult Center, located at 1301 W. Olive Ave, in Bubank. Admission is free, but reservations are equired. The city of Burbank's Joslyn Adult Center is celebrating its 36th year of providing programs, services and opportunities for people 55 and older.
