What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS Help your children discover the magic of reading over the summer. The Burbank Public Library holds its annual summer reading club to encourage youngsters to keep up their reading skills oversummer vacation time. The six-week program runs from June 24-July 31. Registration begins on June 9 and continues throughout the program. Preschoolers and kindergarten-age children are invited to join the Read-To-Me Club, where parents read aloud to their child at home then attend the weekly entertainment at the library together. Special guest performers will include the Jumbo Shrimp Circus, Robbo, Heebie & Jeebie, juggler David Cousin, Ken Frawley, Annie Banannie, Richard Woloski Puppets and Sandii Castleberry. The Summer Reading Clubfor childrenin first throughfifth grades and encourages students to read independently, turn in short book reports and enjoy weekly entertainment at the library. Featured performers will include juggler David Cousin, magician David Skale, entertainer Chrisopher Yates, Tio Alecc, Mad Science, Pacific Animals and Ocean Adventures. Teens in grades 6-12 can keep track of their summer reading and earn chances to win fun prices. There will be three special teen performances during the six-week program. Wild Wonders Inc. will present "It's a Bug's Life" at the Central Library on June 24; comedian Michael Rayner will perform at the Buena Vista Branch Library on July 2; and mime Jan Stuart will bring his performance art to the Northwest Branch Library on July 16.
