Join the City of Burbank for Fire Service Day featuring the Burbank Fire Department, the Burbank Police Department, Burbank Water and Power, live demonstrations, entertainment, displays and Lil' Squirt from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.Saturday, May 10.
Now a much bigger event than ever, it includes National Police Memorial Week, a water festival and a stage with continuous entertainment.
Fire Service Day will take place in the closed-off intersection of Orange Grove and Third Street in Downtown Burbank, in front of the police/fire building. It is free and open to everyone.
Don't miss a day of fun with Burbank Fire Department's displays and demonstrations including vehicle extrication, airplane crash units, hazardous materials, paramedic, Urban Search & Rescue, and rappelling equipment.
The Burbank Police Department will be present with the ever-popular mounted unit, police K-9s, theD.A.R.E. Van, animal shelter and special response team
Both the fire and police departments will offer behind-the-scenes tours of their operations facility, and the Police-Fire Museum will be open during the celebration.
Burbank Water and Power will provide entertainment with a "Water Festival," as well as numerous booths related to water, its usage and conservation.
The day will begin with an early-morning pancake breakfast, presented by the Burbank Community YMCA, at 7 a.m.
Other participants will include Bob Hope Fire/Rescue, Burbank Noon Rotary, Kids Are 1st Child Seat Safety Checks, Santoro's Submarine Sandwich, Walt Disney Fire Department, Warner Bros. Fire Department and free eye screenings by Burbank Noon Lions.
In addition, there will be a farmers market, located just behind City Hall and adjacent to all the Fire Service Day activities. It will be open from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
