The Design Chapter of the Southern California section of the American Ceramic Society will have an exhibit at the Creative Arts Center Gallery in Burbank from July 7-24. The chapter, established in 1945, is an organization of studio and production potters, sculptors, teachers, students and ceramic designers. In 1997, the then president and vice president, Patti Hallowes and Tony Trotta, established the ACS-DC Presidents' Show as an opportunity for all members to exhibit their work, regardless of their level of experience.
This year, Celeste Iida, the current president, is hosting the President's Show at the city of Burbank's Creative Arts Center. This year's exhibit will feature a "Past Presidents Exhibit" displayed in a specially designated area. During the reception, past presidents will award a prize for their favorite work in this juried exhibit featuring more than forty of their artists.
An opening reception will be held from 7-9 p.m.Friday, July 11. The Creative Arts Center Gallery is located at 1100 W. Clark Ave., Burbank. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. The gallery is closed on Sundays.
