Ellen Rundle makes good use of her experience as a sculptor, tile maker and graphic designer in "Symbols and Scenes along the Way". Her work merges the influences of rustic, modern and new age imagery.
"There is a fine line between that which is purely aesthetic and that which becomes an architectural component such as a fireplace surround, kitchen backsplash or outdoor fountain. It's all good," she states.
"Clay excites me, guides and centers me. In each stage, from wet to leather hard, from bisque to glaze fire, each process gives way to new creative challenges and opportunities. It's a metaphor for life....in the end it's what you make of it with elements of surprise along the way," she adds.
