Blog Entry 10 of 68 The Forgotten Sports
Basketball, softball, or volleyball - ever notice only the top 20 teams get covered? There just isn't enough print space to feature all teams. I have shot youth sporting event photos free of charge for over 15 years. Ask me about shooting your team and their next tournament; I will also write about it for all to read. During Winter 2006, I will be found at Olive Recreation Center, in Burbank - shooting ASA fall ball. RYTAC

Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament to benefit local sports
Contributed by: Richard Colon   on 2/4/2007

On Saturday, Feb. 17, the John Burroughs High School baseball and softball booster programs will host a Texas Hold 'Em Tournament at the Burbank Elks Lodge.

Funds raised during this event will support both programs during the upcoming season. Tournament registration opens at 4:30 p.m. with actual play set to start at 5:30 p.m.

The top 10 players to reach the Final Table will receive a prize and an invitation to the 2008 tournament.

This year's tournament champion will walk away with the grand prize of a brand new 40" JVC I' Art television (generously donated by Net Global, Mr. Cooper Bayliss).

If you have ever been tempted to try your hand at the card game that is sweeping the country then this event is for you. For more information on this event, go to: www.BurroughsBaseball.org
