City accepting registrations for day excursions

The city of Palmdale's parks and recreation department is taking registrations for upcoming city excursions to the Museum of the American West on Sept. 20 and the Underwood Family Farms on Oct. 4.
The excursion to the Museum of the American West, formally known as the Autry Museum, costs $13 per person.
"The museum provides rich learning opportunities by exploring myths and realities of the West and its diverse populations," said Palmdale Recreation Supervisor

"The Underwood Family Farms trip is a delight for families to pick their own fruits and vegetables as well as enjoy the farm's Cowboy Weekend featuring stunt ropers, gunfighters and country music," Leszkiewicz said.
The cost is $16 per person.
Excursions offer residents day trips by coach bus to various Southern California cultural and amusement attractions. Registration fees include transportation and admission.

The Palmdale parks and recreation office is located at 38260 10th Street East. Hours are 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.alternating Fridays. The phone number is 661-267-5611.
The Palmdale Oasis Park Center is located at 3850-A East Avenue S and is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The phone number is 661-267-6150.
