Registration open for ‘New Baby, Now What?’ class

Registration has begun for the city of Palmdale's Families in Action course "New Baby, Now What?" to be held Monday evenings from Sept. 22 through Oct. 20.

This five-week class for parents of infants and toddlers will present a new guest speaker each week.

Class topics include: child development, proper nutrition, child safety, medical and dental schedules, positive discipline, child-proofing your home, playing and school readiness, socialization, stress management, community resources and support.

"This course is perfect for the new parent to learn about the basic developmental stages and ages, nonviolent discipline skills and how to build a bond with children," said Family Development Supervisor Kari Robertson.
