Palmdale City Library offers free online test prep

The Palmdale City Library is offering a free online service called LearningExpress Library, which is designed to help users overcome test-taking anxiety, raise test scores and improve test-taking skills.

"LearningExpress Library is an amazing resource for anyone preparing for career-oriented or academic tests," said Palmdale City Librarian Diane Hanville.

"It includes a broad range of practice tests based on official exams for careers such as firefighter, police officer, postal worker, cosmetologist, paramedic, real estate agent and the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). It also has practice tests for the ACT, SAT and GED exams," said Hanville. "Tests are scored instantly with diagnostic feedback included for help in improving scores."

In addition, job-skills tutorials are available to assist in creating resumes and improving interview techniques. There are also interactive skill-building courses offered in math, reading and writing.

"The LearningExpress Library can be accessed from any computer by going to the Palmdale City Library's Web site at www.cityofpalmdale.org/library and clicking on 'Electronic Resources,'" said Hanville. "And best of all, it's free!"
