Contributed by: John Mlynar on 9/5/2008

The City of Palmdale's public safety and community relations department will hold a Neighborhood Watch meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Larry Chimbole Cultural Center, 38350 Sierra Highway in Palmdale, for property owners and residents who live in Zone 3.

Zone 3 is identified as the area between 20th St. East and 40th St. East, south of Avenue Q and north of Pearblossom Highway.

"Residents are invited to bring their families to learn about the Neighborhood Watch program and to learn how to identify ways they can help prevent crime," said Palmdale's Crime Prevention Officer Vicky Razo. "We're encouraging all residents in Zone 3 to come and share their ideas and concerns on neighborhood safety and discover how to help maintain a crime-free environment in their neighborhood. Church and community leaders are also invited to participate in our Neighborhood Watch program."

Crime Prevention Officer Razo and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Community Deputy Layne Arnold from the Palmdale Station will facilitate the meeting.

For more information about the meeting or to learn more about Neighborhood Watch, please call Palmdale's public safety and community relations department at 661-267-5170.
