City of Palmdale to host Adopt-A-Wall workshop
Contributed by: John Mlynar on 8/29/2008

The city of Palmdale's Public Safety and Community Relations Department will host an Adopt-A-Wall workshop at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the City Council Chambers at 38300 Sierra Highway, Suite B.

The city of Palmdale's Adopt-A-Wall program coordinates groups of volunteers to conduct regular graffiti removal and works with the community to reduce graffiti on both public and private property throughout Palmdale.

Participants learn how to report suspicious activity and document and remove graffiti. The city provides color0matched paint and paint brushes to anyone volunteering a small amount of time in this highly effective abatement program.

"The city of Palmdale needs our residents to partner with us in the fight against graffiti vandalism," said Anne Ambrose, director of public safety and community relations. "The most effective way to prevent graffiti is to remove it promptly."

"This workshop provides an excellent opportunity for residents to come learn what they can do to help fight graffiti in Palmdale as well as offer suggestions on how the city can better deal with this issue," Ambrose said.
