The Palmdale Playhouse will celebrate Veterans' Day with a special readers theater performance of "The Bells of Charlemont" at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 7 and 8.
The Palmdale Playhouse is located at 38334 10th Street East in Palmdale.
Based on a true story about a group of American G.I.'s in World War II France, the play will touch the heart of audiences with the power of the human spirit in the midst of war. World War II veterans and their families will be admitted at no charge.
This event is a fundraiser for the Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial for the Antelope Valley. Donations to help reach the goal and begin construction of the memorial will be accepted.
"We are so close to our fundraising goal and we need the public's help to attend these fundraisers or make a donation so that we can begin construction on schedule," said Playhouse Marketing Manager
David Smith.
General admission ticket price for the show is $10 with proceeds going to the Mobile Vietnam Veterans Memorial for the Antelope Valley.
Tickets may be purchased 24 hours a day on the playhouse Web site at
www.cityofpalmdale.org/PalmdalePlayhouse
. Donations for the wall project may also be made on line.
