The city of Palmdale's parks and recreation department will begin taking registrations for the upcoming city excursion to a performance of "The Importance of Being Earnest" at the Glendale Centre Theatre on Nov. 8.
The cost is $23 for Palmdale residents and $28 for non-residents and includes charter bus transportation to the theater and an admission ticket.
The bus will depart from the Palmdale Transportation Center atnoon and return at 7:30 pm. There will be ample time prior to the performance for participants to have an "on-your-own" meal.
"'The Importance of Being Earnest' is a classic comedy by
Oscar Wilde
that revolves around an ingenious case of manufactured mistaken identity that is witty and at times hilarious," said Palmdale Recreation Supervisor
Paula Leszkiewicz
.
Registration can be completed online, in person or by phone.
To register online, log onto
www.playpalmdale.com
.
To register in person, visit the parks and recreation office at 38260 10th St. E. Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on alternating Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center at 3850-A E. Ave. S, open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
