Contributed by: John Mlynar on 10/23/2008

The Palmdale Playhouse's Travelogue Series will continue at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, with "Mayday! Tugs of War - Europe."

The Playhouse is located at 38334 10th St. East in Palmdale.

The second in a series of eight travelogues this season, "Mayday! Tugs of War - Europe" is a film that focuses on the hair-raising achievements of the rescue tug men in World War II.

"These courageous sailors braved adverse elements and enemy fire in order to rescue other sailors whose ships were in peril," said Palmdale Playhouse Marketing Manager David A. Smith.

Filmmaker Robin Williams will host the event that features rare footage, photographs and interviews. The audience will be able to interact with Williams in a question and answer session after the presentation.

Tickets are available for $5. Tickets for upcoming events may be purchased 24 hours a day on the Palmdale Playhouse Web site at www.cityofpalmdale.org/palmdaleplayhouse.

Upcoming Palmdale Playhouse travelogues include "Four Corners USA - A Southwest Adventure" on Nov. 16; "Alaska - The Ultimate RV Adventure" on Jan. 25; "Cruising Russia - St. Petersburg to Moscow on the Volga" on Feb. 15; "My California Adventure" on March 8; "Lindbergh's Flight to Paris" on March 15; and "Cruising Europe's Great Rivers" on April 26.
