Mystery book group to discuss 'Two Minute Rule'
Contributed by: John Mlynar on 10/28/2008

The Palmdale City Library's mystery book discussion group called "Mystery, Murder and Mayhem" will discuss the book "The Two Minute Rule" by Robert Crais at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Palmdale City Library, 700 E. Palmdale Blvd.

The event is free and open to anyone interested in mystery novels.

"This group provides a wonderful opportunity to talk about the mystery novels you love with other mystery fans," said Librarian Chice Davison of the Palmdale City Library.

"Two minutes, in and out, that's the rule for robbing banks and the book's main character Max Holman certainly knows this better than most," Davison said. "He got caught during a robbery after he stopped to perform CPR on a bank customer."

The story unfolds as he gets released from prison and is looking into the murder of the son he never really knew. His son is suspected of being in a ring of dirty cops seeking loot from a string of bank robberies. The only person he figures can help him is Katherine Pollard, the fed who nabbed him.

"Author Robert Crais has created the perfect odd couple. They keep this novel personal and real as it builds to an exciting twist on the bank-robbing rule," Davison said.

The libraryalso provides disabled access with 72 hours' notice.
