Contributed by: John Mlynar on 11/5/2008

The Palmdale Playhouse Visual Arts Group will hold a workshop entitled "Exploring Watercolor Painting" on Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 9 pm at the Palmdale Playhouse, 38334 10th Street East.

"One of a series of visual arts workshops presented during the season, this hands-on watercolor workshop will help students understand the watercolor painting process including materials, style, and color," said Palmdale Playhouse Marketing Manager David A. Smith. "The workshop is taught by Palmdale Visual Arts Group Program Director and Artist Perry Cooksey."

The workshop fee is $10 for members of the Palmdale Playhouse Visual Arts Group. Admission for nonmembers is $20. Contact the Palmdale Playhouse for a list of supplies.

The Visual Arts Group meets on various Tuesday evenings throughout the season to promote art and artists in the community by providing a supportive environment for exhibition, education, discussion and appreciation of all aspects of the visual arts. Upcoming Visual Arts Group workshops offered this season include "Fantasy Drawing for Teens," "Oil Painting, Pastel and Charcoal Art" and "Stretching the Imagination." Members of the Visual Arts group receive a substantial discount on all workshops.

For more information or to order tickets contact the Palmdale Playhouse box office at 661/267-5685, or visit the theatre's Web site at www.cityofpalmdale.org/PalmdalePlayhouse.
