WBI to enlighten students with 'eLearning'
Contributed by: info @wbi.edu on 7/25/2008

After six months of intensive development and testing, Western Beauty Institute, with campuses in Panorama City and Lancaster, will soon release its new eLearning module to its Cosmetology and Estheology students.

The module will become part of the myWBI™ Web site, the world's very first beauty school student Web portal.

WBI's new eLearning module will encourage students to supplement their classroom instruction by giving them access to practice exams, thousands of questions and answers, and targeted lessons.

It will also provide instructors with instant feedback on their students' performance through use of e-mail notifications and online messaging.

The eLearning module is the first part of what is expected to be a suite of custom Web-based school management, service and communication SaaS (Software as a Service) modules designed especially for Western Beauty Institute by Web Designer/Developer Jim Tompkins, under the direction of Randy Fugate, director of marketing for Western Beauty Institute's campuses.

"This is the future, here, right now," said Fugate. "This puts WBI out ahead of all other schools when it comes to pushing the envelope of technology for the betterment of our students. We envision this as a paradigm shift in the way cosmetology is taught. WBI creates for our students a space and a culture for learning, experimenting, expanding their horizons. 'MyWBI™' will set the standard other schools may try to achieve."
