Three Jack Northrop 5th-graders win speech contest

Ten fifth-graders competed in the Modern Woodmen of America School Speech Contest at Jack Northrop Elementary School.
The topic for the 2008 School Speech contest was "An American Landmark." Speeches were three to five minutes long.
Winners at the school this year were
Garrett Estevez
, who came in first,
Misty Ellis
, who won second placeand
Vanessa Corona
, who won third place.
The three students, all age 10, received a gold plated School Speech Contest pin and individual trophy plaques from school principal,
Karen Stults
.
