The new owners of Extensions Performing Arts Academy, along with Antelope Valley Mall, are proud to present the first annual Performing Life Dance Competition at Antelope Valley Mall.

This is a fundraiser benefiting Kids Charities of the Antelope Valley and a sponsorship for the dancers of the Extensions Performing Company.

On Jan. 31, 2009, beginning at 10:30 a.m., dancers from all around the high desert will perform in front of a live panel of judges. The judges will consist of former dancers from the hit Fox show "So You Think You Can Dance!"

This is an open competition, so all dance styles will be on display. This exciting new event is guaranteed to be as entertaining as it is helpful to local Kid's Charities.

Auditions to qualify for this competition will be held at Extensions Performing Arts Academy, located on Avenue L and 30th Street West in Lancaster, on Dec. 7. Applications for auditions are being accepted through Nov. 25 at Extensions. All dancers are welcome!

Sponsors will have display areas for their products and services, so there will be additional activity for attendees between dance numbers.

One-hundre percentof the proceeds will be shared 50/50 between the Extensions Performing Company and Kids Charities of the Antelope Valley.

Kid's Charities of the Antelope Valley is a well-known, local charitable organization helping thousands of kids in the Antelope Valley. Thunder on the Lot raises the bulk of the money for the charity and this dance competition will add more funds to help local children.

The Extensions Performing Company consists of dancersages 7-18. They perform all over the community and this spring they are looking forward to training in San Francisco with some of the top choreographers in the state.

They will also compete in a national competition during the summer for an entire week. Money from this dance competition will help fund travel expenses for the performing company.
