A Texas Hold'em poker tournament will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, to benefit St. Joseph Manor in Lancaster. The tournament will be held at Diamond Jim's Casino, located at 118 20th St. West, Rosamond. Registration and check-in will begins at 11 a.m. with a complimentary buffet lunch served at 3 p.m. for all players. Buy-in is $100 per ticket with all proceeds benefiting Saint Joseph Manor. There will be cash prizes totaling $10,000. The first-place winner will receive $4,000. Saint Joseph Manor is an emergency and transitional shelter for homeless women and children. The Manor provides access to parenting, education and continuing vocational and professional training for these young mothers. Saint Joseph Manor also helps its residents build self-confidence and experience stability for their children and themselves. Since opening its doors in July 2007, the Manor has served 238 families and housed 48 families.
