Family and friends of loved ones buried at Grand View Memorial Park in Glendale will have another opportunity to visit graves there this Sunday, June 29, from noon to 4 p.m.

The last such visitation occurred on Sunday, May 25.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Anthony J. Mohr ordered the opening, along with two future dates, July 13 and July 27, earlier this week in response to a proposed order from attorneys representing plaintiffs in an ongoing lawsuit against Grand View.

The proposal cited the "legitimate desire of survivors and the community to see [the cemetery] restored to some level of function and to provide for loved ones interred" there.

It also included two additional Sunday dates in August and September, but a ruling on that schedule is not expected until the next court hearing on July 29.

As with all other previous openings, visitors are reminded to follow fire safety rules which include no open flames, smoking or incense burning.

Also, volunteers are again needed to monitor the area, help direct traffic and assist in grave locations. Anyone interested in helping out should contact David Baum, counsel representing the cemetery operator, at 310-312-9598.

Grand View Memorial Park is located at 1341 Glenwood Road, Glendale.

The National Weather Service forecast for Glendale on Sunday is partly cloudy with a high of 84°F.

This matter is a shameful shows gross mismanagement and greed. If this legal, spiritual & ethical matter isn't corrected by the ancestors of the interered, this will turn EXACTLY into Ventura's abandoned and desecrated St. Marys EX-cemetery. Read about that current problem at LINK: http://www.restorestmarys.org/ "RESTORE ST. MARY'S Is a project to restore the desecrated cemeteries of the historic town of San Buenaventura (now Ventura) which include the: St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (est. 1862), Ventura (aka Protestant) Cemetery (est. 1889), and Hebrew Cemetery (est. 1895)"
